Located on the coastal area of Yangnam is a work of art by nature,a geological structure of columnar joints.
Columnar jointing occurs in many types of igneous rocks and forms as the rock cools and contracts.

The Columnar Jointing Observatory deck was built to cater a 360-degree spectacle of Yangnam’s sea and land.
It’s a four-story building where you can splurge a bird’s eye view of the columnar joints.

Upon entering you will see guidelines of do’s and don’ts and be greeted with a very accommodating receptionist, Choi.

The guidelines include opening and closing time which is 9:30am-6pm.
Only until 5:50pm that you’ll be allowed to get in. They’re implementing strict rules to time as it affects their closing procedures.
Other rules include: bringing pets are allowed with utmost attention to avoid causing damage on properties. And you will not be allowed to get in if you’re under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Choi also handed me a leaflet with information of the rock formations and a map of the Padosori Path.

You’ll see hanged pictures of scenic views by random photographers on the 4th floor of the observatory deck.

Going down the staircase is a fluctuating view of cozy cafes and pension houses on the mountain side as well as a panorama of the rock formations by the sea.

Coffee Mono along the shore is a nice spot to enjoy the breeze while indulging in a book and sipping your favorite cup of tea of coffee.

The ground floor caters more information about the site.

It includes geographical information which are educational for kids and good bonding activity for the whole family.

Alongside the Observatory Deck is the Padosori Path where you can enjoy long walks of relaxing and breezy picturesque sights of rock formations and greeneries alongside the vast coast of Yangnam.
