Summer’s Glamour @ Cheomseongdae

One of the places I look forward going every summertime is at Cheomseongdae Park. Different kinds of flowers are in full bloom and picturesque landscapes welcomes all tourists and resident park-goers.

Cheomseongdae or star-gazing platform was constructed in the 7th century during the Silla Dynasty. Regarded as the oldest surviving astronomical observatory in Asia or possibly even the world, this tower must have witnessed a thousand folds of falling stars and the beauty of the galaxy for the past one thousand years.

The entire park of flowers and heritage sites are guided with maps and arrow landmarks so travelers could experience a more informative and educational stroll.

A pathway from Anapji lotus ponds to Cheomseongdae.

Click to the right to check out exquisite flowers adorned on every spot.

You can also rent bicycles if you want a breezier experience. The paths are wide enough for a bike stroll. It could be inconvenient though as the sights will be pulling you off your bike at every spot to get some pics.

This site has been a shooting area for the KBS drama Daewang-eui Ggum'대왕의 꿈'/ King’s Dream.

The Cheomseongdae Park caters nothing but relaxing sites offering a piece of history every Gyeongsangbuk Province wanderer shouldn’t miss.
